Around 50%
of the the average water consumption can be replaced by
rainwater without any loss of convenience. The average daily
usage per person in Europe being around 150litres. Add it up over a
year and thats a lot of water and a lot of money. Your water bill
doesn't get any cheaper each year so the sooner you make the change the
sooner you can start saving - water and money.
If you're a gardening fan then you know how the summer
droughts can
impact on your ability to water the plants you have brought
or nurtured, you will do all you can to prevent a
fruitless labour of love
Uses
- Flushing your
toilet
- Washing
machine
- Watering
vegetables/flowers
- Washing your
car
Rain water
harvesting tanks are
installed underground in your garden. They have a flush locking top
that enables a mower to cross and prevents trip hazards.
The
size of tank that you require depends on your needs, obviously
using harvested water for flushing the WC as well
as garden
use will use more water. These storage systems are available
from
2800litres upwards.
To ensure a constant supply of rainwater we
recommend a 4800litre tank,. This size gives a good compromise between
purchase & installation costs.
There are various options
from the simplest installation with one extraction point to a
fully automated pumped system feeding your WC's and washing machine
with mains water admittance in times of severe drought. (if a mains
water admittance system is installed it is forbidden to use the system
for watering plants & washing cars in times of drought)
